Description
The GRW
is a full motion mechanism specifically designed for most plywood
Pinewood Derby tracks. It operates by remote control to start
your race with nobody near the track. The GRW mounts to the
bottom of your track with four self tapping screws included.
The electronics portion of the unit is integrated with the actuating
mechanism.
The actuating
component is a powerful rotary solenoid which rotates your existing
peg bar by a brass pull rod. The pull rod is attached to the
end grain of the peg bar at a point 5/8" displaced from
the peg bars's hinge axis.

One often requested
modification is the ability to trigger the light tree from within Derby
Management sofware in addition to the standard infrared remote control.
When the light sequence gets to green, the Light Tree in turn activates
the gate. This modification involves work on the Light Tree, the Gate, and
and the interconnecting cable, and adds $20. Order the GRW-E at $179 and
the Light Tree Model LT3-E at $169

Weighing in at 2 pounds,
10 oz, and generating three times the torque, the GRWB is not needed for
6 lane BestTracks, but could be considered for 8 lane BestTracks and above.
Or for unlimited class races where heavy cars are allowed.
The heart of the GRWB
is the Ledex Size 7S, Model H2809-027 with 17.5 inch pounds of starting
torque. The GRWB and GRW are shown at the right for comparison.
