Model GLM

Description

The GLM is a latch mechanism specifically designed for the Freedom Pinewood Derby track, made by MicroWizard. It operates by remote control to start your race with nobody near the track. The GLM mounts with a single 1/4"-20 screw included. The electronics portion of the unit is integrated with the actuating mechanism on a single substrate.

The actuating component is a linear solenoid which pulls a latch engaged with the Freedom's gate. You must mount a small metal piece on the Freedom gate to act as a strike plate, but this is quite easy.

Triggering the GLM

The Model GLB may be activated in three different ways:
Pushbutton Switch Model PB-1   $19

One often requested modification is the ability to trigger the light tree from within Derby Management sofware in addition to the standard infrared remote control. When the light sequence gets to green, the Light Tree in turn activates the gate. This modification involves work on the Light Tree, the Gate, and and the interconnecting cable, and adds $20.
