Racing of 1/64 scale die-cast cars is taking the world by storm!

And New Directions is right there to help.  We have just put the finishing touches on a complete electronic finish line to complement the exciting new track now available from BluTrack.  Extruded from low density polyethylene, this track is smooth and fast!.  Each section of track is two lanes wide, and it can be rolled up for storage without damage.

Until now, tracks suitable for this size car have been a bit elusive. A decade ago, Mattel produced the "orange track" a continuous length of single lane track, and once in a while, a piece of it turns up on eBay ... if you are lucky. Short pieces of this track format can be found at Toys R Us, but making a long track requires a discouraging number of joints. RaceGrooves produced a great track back in 2003, which had a profile of two Mattel tracks joined with 2.45" on center. However, availability of this track is currently uncertain. We offer timers and start gates to fit the RaceGrooves and Mattel format. One can make a track out of wood or other materials, but it requires a great deal of precision and attention to detail, compared to, for example, Pinewood tracks.

For now, it looks like BluTrack is your best bet for a precision Hot Wheels® race track.

Elapsed Time This custom finish line contains two independent timing modules sharing a common clock. Resolution is 10 microseconds.
