While supples last, we are offering start and finish lines for the RaceGrooves track, which is not currently in production.  It has a unique locking edge system that allows you to create a track of any width and length.  Each section of track is two lanes wide, and six feet long, making it convenient to transport and store, and inexpensive to ship.  The track assembles without any tools at all!

New Directions has re-designed our popular Judge finish line to exactly fit the RaceGrooves track format.  The track slips into a completely assembled finish line, assuring exact alignment of the infrared elements, with no tools required.  Sizes are:  2 lane, 4 lane, 6 lane, and 8 lane.  All the same options are available on the RaceGrooves finish line as are available on the Pinewood models:

* Computer Option -- Your computer displays elapsed time of all lanes to .0001 second
* E.T. Option -- Built-in stopwatch for elapsed time of winner to .00001 second
* Wall Transformer Option -- Power by 120VAC in addition to three AA cells
* Reset Choices -- Flexibility in transition to next race
* Sunlight Max -- For use outdoors, even in full sunlight

The hold-down system we use is also compatible with the Mattel continuous orange track. For this format, we can put the lane centers at any spacing you specify. Here is a close-spaced Mattel finish line

Start Gates

New Directions has also designed a start gate for the track, giving a complete solution to fair racing.  The gate snaps open with the touch of a finger, so fast you cannot see it happen.  The gate comes with a heavy duty aluminum mounting plate that mounts to a ladder or other horizontal surface, and gives the track an initial 45 degree slope.  The RaceGrooves track then slips onto the gate without tools and is held firmly in position by the exacting tolerances of the hold-down details.  You are up and running in minutes!

The start gate is engineered for precision and reliability.  The crossbar is anodized aluminum, with .187" aluminum posts.  The hinges are solid brass, and the latch is brass-plated steel.  The force to open the gate is provided by a cobalt steel expansion spring.
