Floor Stand Ideas
For value and stability, it is hard to beat a concrete stepping stone, available at Home Depot for $1.99.
A steel floor flange is epoxied to the top surface, and a male threaded adaptor is screwed into the flange.
The T fitting allows the start gate cable to exit the pipe.
The bottom of the stand is open, which allows the cable to exit out the bottom of the pipe.
Here is the ultimate. I just installed a big screen Sony Bravia TV on the wall, and had the stand left over. I noticed that with a very little work with a dremel tool, a 1.5" PVC pipe fitting just fit in the base where the steel pylon had been.
